      WISPPA Cocktail Party, June 14 (Photo – Staff)

      Women Involved in South Pasadena Political Action (WISPPA), hosted its 2023 WISPPA Cocktail Party on Wednesday, June 14.

      The event took place at the home of founder Mary Urquhart, on a cool Wednesday evening. A group of candidates running for office were present in addition to city officials and staff. Guests enjoyed food and drinks while they listened to speeches and music by Cole…

      WISPPA started as a women’s group, but welcomes everyone to join. Its purpose is to push for accountability, integrity, and transparency in South Pasadena government. They actively encourage strong, well-qualified candidates, and especially women, to run for City Council and to serve on City Commissions. WISPPA also seeks to offer opinions and advocate for positions concerning the well-being of the City of South Pasadena, and to provide information to the electorate regarding City Council candidates and city issues. according to the group’s website.
