1,464 voters chose their favorites in 12 categories. Not everyone voted in each category and in some categories, there were fewer entries.

      By News Desk

Pasadena celebrated all things cheeseburger during Cheeseburger Week, January 22nd to 28th. Visitors enjoyed food created especially for the event, took advantage of great deals and meals, followed cheeseburger crawls and voted in the 2023 Cheeseburger Challenge.

Pie ‘n Burger won in four categories: Favorite Lunch Counter Burger, Traditional Cheeseburger, Dessert After a Burger and Favorite Cheeseburger.

Dog Haus/Dog Haus Biergarten also won in four categories: Favorite Sliders, Favorite Gourmet Burger, Favorite Bar Burger and Favorite Cheeseburger. The Stand won in Favorite Vegan Burger with its “Falafel Burger.” El Cholo won in Favorite Burrito.

One can argue that Falafel and Burritos are not burgers. For that, Paul Little, Pasadena Chamber CEO, said: “We…added a Favorite Burrito category this year to include some new restaurants with old favorites. And it could be argued that a burrito is a deconstructed cheeseburger (if you use your imagination a little).”

Cheeseburger Week is an event presented by the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce.  For full list of winners visit pasadenarestaurantweek.com.

I got frustrated by the list – some restaurants didn’t even have cheeseburgers, I didn’t see any specials, and a couple of links didn’t even work. So I didn’t even participate even though I had planned to.
