The Rose Bowl has always been the best destination in town for a good fireworks show, but where do you go if you don’t want to spend the money or deal with traffic?

Go to the road above the rose bowl on the east side of the canyon. Walking or biking to the Rose Bowl is always a good bet. The idea is to try to find a vantage point to watch the display from a fairly short distance and still enjoy the amazing fireworks.
Spectators always fill the adjacent parking lots and crowd the hills surrounding the Bowl for a good view of the anticipated fireworks display.
Echo Mountain
An alternative solution would be Echo mountain, a popular spot for the adventurous. Many do the hike in order to watch the fireworks from above, the only downside is you have to hike back after the show in the dark.
It is highly advisable to be in a group for safety reasons. The hike is 3 miles one way, beginning at the northern point of Lake avenue.
Location: Start at the intersection of East Loma Alta Drive and Lake Avenue, at the entrance to the Cobb Estate.

The City of Monrovia’s 4th of July Concert & Fireworks Show is scheduled for July 4. Entertainment will begin at 3:00 p.m. with recorded music, followed by a live band playing from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. The Fireworks Show is free of charge and is scheduled to begin at 9:00 p.m. and will last approximately 20 minutes. You may reserve a park space no larger than 10 x 10 feet and must be supervised at all times.
