9:30 am – 10:00 pm: L.A. Indie Book Crawl. Grab a 13-store strong passport that will guide you around L.A. independent bookstores for three days, rewarding every $10 in purchases. (@Vroman’s Bookstore, Pasadena; Once Upon a Time, Montrose)

10:00 am – 11:00 am: Sierra Madre Senior Hawaiian & Polynesian Dance Class. Join instructor Barbara Dempsey as she leads you in the art of Hula. Bring a lei, flower skirt, or just your desire to dance. (@Memorial Park, Sierra Madre)

10:30 am: South Pasadena Library: My Gym Pasadena Session. Kids ages 1–10 years old will enjoy singing, dancing, and a reading of A Magical My Gym Day, all designed to spark imagination and build confidence. (@South Pasadena Library)

5:30 pm – 8:00 pm: Sunset Music Series at Kidspace Children’s Museum. Bring the family for either performance (5:30 or 7:00 pm) at the Stone Hollow Amphitheater for Afro-Latin Summer Jam, featuring Masanga Marimba performing traditional and popular music from Africa and Latin America. 9:00 am – 1:00 pm: San Gabriel Farmers Market: Head to Mission Drive, in front of the Mission Playhouse, to indulge in a wide variety (over 20 vendors) of fresh local produce, artisan foods, baked goods, flowers, and more. (@Mission Playhouse, San Gabriel)

11:00 am: L.A. Indie Book Crawl: Children’s Book Signing. Uncle-nephew writing team Paul Paolilli and Dan Brewer celebrating their lushly illustrated picture book Pondering: A Story in Cinquains. 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm: Before Route 66: Early Road Travel and the Birth of Highway Signage. As part of their Route 66/Colorado Boulevard anniversary exhibit, Pasadena Museum of History presents this lecture on early road signage before highway standardization. 6:00 pm: Levitt VIBE Pasadena Music Series, free and open to all ages, continues with Mariachi artists Julian Torres y Mariachi Cenzontle. A Hawthorne native, Torres is a passionate musical performer and educator who has appeared at Dodger Stadium, Disneyland and Japan, playing for U.S. troops overseas. Sure to be a high-energy evening. 7:00 pm: Altadena Concerts in the Park. This week features Las Chikas, comprised of some of the most talented female musicians in the Southland. Salsa never looked so good in the City of Angels, a melting pot of cultures and ethnicity come together to give birth to a multicultural female band that sets the stage on fire! 2:30 pm: Silent Sundays in San Gabriel: The Thief of Baghdad. Douglas Fairbanks stars as a swashbuckling thief who sets out on a quest to prove himself worthy of a princess’s hand in marriage, while three rival princes—including one with a hidden agenda—seek the world’s rarest treasure. See what all the fuss was about a century ago and experience a silent-film classic the way audiences did in 1924, with live music, a magnificent Wurlitzer organ, and, thankfully, modern air conditioning. (@San Gabriel Mission Playhouse)

4:30 pm – 8:00 pm: Twilight Garden Stroll at The Huntington. As day turns to dusk, relax and explore the gardens with friends and family after regular visiting hours, which end at 5:00 pm. Enjoy special crafts and late open hours for cafes and the gift shop with cooler weather and smaller crowds. (@The Huntington, Arcadia)

6:00 pm – 8:00 pm: 2026 Sierra Madre Summer Concerts in the Park. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and picnic dinners to enjoy the shows in a relaxed outdoor setting. The evening’s concert features an Elvis Presley tribute band. (@Memorial Park, Sierra Madre)
