Storms expected this weekend could heighten the risk of mudflows in burn areas across Altadena, Sierra Madre, Pasadena, and the Palisades, officials warned.

With rain in the forecast, authorities are urging residents in and near recent burn scars to take precautions now to protect their families and homes. Areas previously affected by fire are particularly vulnerable to debris flows and mudslides during periods of heavy rainfall.
Residents are encouraged to visit ready.lacounty.gov for storm preparation resources, sign up for emergency alerts at alert.lacounty.gov, and locate nearby sandbag distribution sites at:
- Los Angeles County Public Works Fleet Maintenance Yard
252 Mountain View St., Altadena, CA 91001 - Malibu Library, Parking Lot
23519 West Civic Center Way, Malibu, CA 90265
Officials emphasized that preparing before the storms arrive, including clearing drainage areas and securing sandbags, can help reduce potential damage and improve safety during the anticipated rainfall.
