Lace up, Pasadena, it’s time to walk the walk!

      By Rena Kurlander

Pasadena is trading in its car keys for comfy sneakers this October as Walktober 2025 struts into its eighth exciting year! Hosted by the City of Pasadena Department of Transportation (DOT) in partnership with local nonprofit Day One and the passionate advocates at the Pasadena Complete Streets Coalition (PasCSC), this annual celebration invites everyone to explore Pasadena one step at a time.

      What is Walktober?

Walktober is more than just a clever pun. It’s part of an international movement that encourages communities to embrace walking—for health, connection, sustainability, and fun! Here in Pasadena, it’s become a beloved tradition, packed with free, walking-themed public events designed to highlight the city’s history, culture, neighborhoods, and natural beauty.

Whether you’re a lifelong resident or a first-time visitor, Walktober is your chance to rediscover Pasadena in the best way possible: on foot.
