Vroman’s Bookstore will celebrate the 50th anniversary edition of Interview with the Vampire with an event featuring Leigh Bardugo, Christopher Rice and Eric Shaw Quinn.

      By Melanie Hooks

The authors will appear Monday, October 5, at 7:00 pm at Pasadena Presbyterian Church, 585 E. Colorado Blvd. Tickets include admission and a copy of the special edition, distributed at check-in. The book will be pre-signed by Bardugo, who wrote the edition’s new foreword, and Rice, who wrote its afterword.

The anniversary edition features a foil-and-embossed jacket, sprayed edges, designed endpapers and previously unseen pages from the original manuscript.

The novel follows Louis de Pointe du Lac through his first two centuries as a vampire, beginning with his transformation by Lestat. As Louis wrestles with the hungers of his new existence and the remnants of his humanity, he seeks to break away from his creator and find his place in the world.

Questions about the event can be sent to promo@vromansbookstore.com or directed to (626) 449-5320.

Other authors appearing at Vroman’s this month include Eric Idle, discussing Idle in Provence on October 10, and Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Barbara Kingsolver, presenting Partita on October 21.
