The City of Pasadena’s Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department will host its annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Tuesday, November 11, to honor the bravery and sacrifice of military veterans, with a special tribute to Lt. Colonel Raymond G. Harvey, a Medal of Honor recipient and longtime Pasadena resident.

The ceremony will take place at Pasadena City Hall, located at 100 N. Garfield Ave., beginning at 10:30 am.
This year’s event will spotlight Lt. Colonel Harvey, one of the most decorated soldiers in U.S. Army history. A Chickasaw Indian who served in both World War II and the Korean War, Harvey’s distinguished service earned him the nation’s highest military honor—the Medal of Honor. His heroic actions during the Korean War, where he led Company C of the 7th Infantry Division, resulted in this prestigious award, as well as a Distinguished Service Cross, three Silver Stars, three Bronze Stars, three Purple Hearts, and the French Croix de Guerre with Palm.
The ceremony will also feature a range of engaging activities. Associate Justice Eileen Moore, a decorated Vietnam War combat nurse with the Army Nurse Corps, will deliver the keynote address. Her service and dedication to the nation make her an ideal speaker to honor the sacrifices of all veterans.
In addition to the ceremony, Pasadena Fire Fighters Local 809 will offer complimentary hot dogs, and the Martin Severance Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) will organize family-friendly activities and exhibits. Local veterans’ organizations, including the American Legion Posts 13 & 280, the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps, and the Rose Bowl Stadium, will have informational booths for attendees to explore.
A highlight of the event will be a flyover by the Condor Squadron at precisely 11:11 am, paying tribute to all who have served.
This year’s ceremony is particularly significant as it marks the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army, Navy, and Marine Corps, highlighting the significance of honoring the veterans who have shaped the nation’s history through their courage and sacrifice.
The event is supported by the Rose Bowl Stadium, Pasadena Management Association, the American Legion, Vietnam Veterans of America, and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
The ceremony will begin promptly at 10:30 am, and the public is encouraged to arrive early to secure seating and participate in the full program.
