Update: Ron Sahu’s withdrawal from the Alhambra City Council District 1 race turned out to be temporary. After Councilmember Katherine Lee did not file to seek a third term, Sahu re-entered the race and successfully qualified for the November 3 ballot.

Sahu had previously announced his candidacy for the seat, then withdrew, citing personal reasons. He has since returned to the race and will face Amy J. Wong in the open-seat contest.
Sahu had announced his candidacy after highlighting his longtime residency in Alhambra, service on the city’s Planning Commission and Environmental Sustainability Commission, and involvement in local community and land-use issues.
The District 1 election is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026.
