“You have bewitched me, body and soul,” breathes the lovelorn, cinematic icon Mr. Darcy—and the only thing more romantic than the moment itself might be watching it unfold outdoors on a Pasadena summer night. Luckily, you’ll have the chance next Wednesday, July 8, at 8:00 pm, thanks to the Caltech Library.
This year’s theme for the Caltech Library’s annual Summer Outdoor Movie Nights at the Sherman Fairchild Library Amphitheater is Classical Literature, But Make It Y2K.
The upcoming installment is the 2005 film adaptation of Jane Austen’s quintessential novel, Pride and Prejudice, starring Keira Knightley as Elizabeth Bennet and Matthew Macfadyen as Mr. Darcy. A sterling adaptation of Austen’s beloved classic about love, marriage, and class distinctions in 18th-century England, the PG-rated film remains a favorite among audiences.
Bring your own blankets, pillows, and outdoor chairs, grab some free popcorn, and enjoy a movie night at the Sherman Fairchild Library East Amphitheater, located in the courtyard of the Sherman Fairchild Engineering Library, bordered by Olive Walk and San Pasqual Walk on the California Institute of Technology campus.
