Two Pasadena Unified schools, Blair and John Muir, earned six-year stamps of approval from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

The WASC Accrediting Commission for Schools granted each school the six-year accreditation status following separate, intense evaluations of Muir Early College Magnet and of Blair High and MiddleSchool.
Blair, an International Baccalaureate World School for grades 6 through 12, features several programs for students to choose from, including Spanish Language Dual Immersion, International Baccalaureate courses and programs, Health Careers Academy, Armenian Academy, International Academy, and JROTC.
Muir Early College Magnet features several options as well, including Engineering and Environmental Science Academy, Business and Entrepreneurship Academy, and the Arts, Entertainment and Media Academy. Pasadena City College classes are available for students to take on campus at Muir.
The accreditation status for Blair and for Muir will be in place through June 30, 2029 with a mid-cycle visit during the 2025-2026 school year.
