The Monterey Park Police Department responded to an injury traffic collision on the evening of August 20, 2026.

The incident occurred at approximately 8:55 pm on Atlantic Boulevard, north of Garvey Avenue, involving a police patrol vehicle and another vehicle.
Responding officers found both vehicles along the east curb of North Atlantic Boulevard with visible collision damage. Personnel from the Monterey Park Fire Department provided medical treatment at the scene before transporting both drivers to a local hospital for further evaluation and treatment. Both individuals have since been treated and discharged.
The California Highway Patrol is currently conducting an active investigation into the cause of the collision.
