It is a rare moment in life when you are in the presence of someone who is completely focused, kind, and grounded.

Felecia “Fe Love” Lenee Williams was that person. She was strong, resilient and focused on advocacy. Many people knew Fe as she spread her mission of compassion, arts and environmental justice throughout our underserved neighborhoods and youth groups. Fe was the Co-founder of Compassionate ARTS in Action, the Youth Program Director at Posts for Peace and Justice, and the project manager for #WhenBlackandBrownGoGreen, a group launched to educate and encourage BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, & People of Color) in frontline communities to become leaders in climate and environmental justice.
Assemblymember Chris Holden recently began supporting Fe’s work, particularly her service learning project, which focused on engaging and educating black and brown youth about the impacts that climate change is having on marginalized and underserved communities including Northwest Pasadena. She used her organization’s virtual platform to identify youth from diverse backgrounds, and the issues most relevant and personal to them, in order to coach and empower them to take creative and informed action and to be effective civic leaders. Working in partnership with INDIVISIBLE and P.A.C.E, a statewide Climate Equity initiative connecting individuals that are Black Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC) working in frontline and marginalized communities, she hoped to engage Holden in a town hall meeting to focus on environmental legislation.
On March 3, 2021 Fe passed away after gracing earth for 41 years. In a fitting tribute for this beautiful soul and local environmental justice advocate, a peace walk demanding justice for the death of Anthony McClain, who was fatally shot in Pasadena on Aug. 15, 2020 by a Pasadena police officer, was organized to celebrate her memory on March 27th. Fe clearly had a major positive impact on our youth and our community. Fe Love will be missed.

This is a great loss to our community. Thankfully, the seeds she has sown will bloom forward for generations.
Just Peace, Radical Love, In Hearts Forever
