During this pandemic, people are staying home, eating more and gaining weight due to inactivity.

1- Did you know that eating intuitively helps you lose weight and keeps you full longer?

It takes about 15-20 minutes for your body to register that you are full. Eating slowly helps you enjoy the meal because with every bite you become mindful of the taste and texture and appreciate the food more. Chew the food slowly until it breaks down; it is easier for the body to digest broken down food. Eating really fast will do more harm than good.

2- Remember to schedule time out of your busy day to eat.

Think of eating as time to nourish your body rather than thinking of it as an inconvenience. Be mindful of what food makes you feel alive and what food makes you feel sluggish. You will have more energy throughout the day by keeping a regular eating schedule. Don’t wait to get around to it. Sticking to a schedule will give you freedom.

3- If you want to lose weight or maintain weight, eat slowly.

When you eat too quickly, you tend to overeat and gain weight. Ask yourself some questions.  What is my relationship with food? What challenges am I facing? Am I hungry or am I bored and just want to munch on something? What can I do to move forward with having a good relationship with food?

      Bon appétit and stay healthy!
