“The Joy Luck Club” Is Coming to Sierra Madre Playhouse

Tim Dang is slated to direct “The Joy Luck Club” at Sierra Madre Playhouse this August.

The story of four older Chinese-American women and their complex relationships with their American-born daughters, will feature Christopher Chen, Lee Chen, Victor Chi, Debbie Fan, April Lam, Katharine Lerner, Christine Liao, Sharline Liu, Peggy Lu, Nancy Ma, Grace Shen and Gloria Tsai.

Tim Dang previously directed Nothing Is the Same for the Playhouse. He is Producing Artistic Director Emeritus, of East West Players, and the recipient of Ovation Awards for directing Pacific Overtures and for directing and producing Sweeney Todd. Susan Kim is the playwright, adapting her script from the novel by Amy Tan.

The Joy Luck Club play is slated to debut on August 24, 2019.
