Referring to the year under lockdown, A Year includes video, photography, atmospheric music, and installation work by Pasadena-based artist Terry Chatkupt. The works investigate the complex relationships between the natural and the built environment, the outdoors and indoors, and the emotional effects of navigating between these dualities from the point of view of Chatkupt and his young children.
The exhibition will be on view in the Armory’s Caldwell Gallery from January 26 to March 31, 2024. A public reception is scheduled for Sunday, January 28, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm with a conversation between the artist Terry Chatkupt and his son Bodhi, the focus of recent video work, at 1:00 pm and a free all-ages art workshop with Armory teaching staff at 2:00 pm. Admission is free and open to the public.
