Ten Thousand Villages Pasadena will celebrate its 20th anniversary on Saturday, Aug. 22, with an evening event marking two decades of supporting fair-trade artisans and serving the Pasadena community.

The nonprofit store, which opened in 2006, specializes in ethically sourced, handcrafted goods created by artisans in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East. According to the organization, purchases help create economic opportunities for artisans, many of whom are women.
The anniversary celebration will feature dinner and cocktails, a benefit silent auction, guest speakers, and a raffle. The silent auction, which opened Aug. 1, features services, memberships, gift cards from local businesses and restaurants, and fair-trade gifts. Click link to buy tickets and bid on silent auctions.
Board Chair Tom Hoffath said the anniversary reflects the support the organization has received from customers, volunteers, and community partners over the past 20 years.
Store Manager Laurel Averill said the Pasadena community’s support has helped advance fair trade while providing shoppers with handcrafted gifts and home décor. She also recognized the contributions of volunteers and staff members throughout the organization’s history.
The event will be held from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Sweetland Hall at All Saints Church, 132 N. Euclid Ave., Pasadena.
