Held as part of the Academy’s global celebration of its 60th anniversary, this year’s event carries the theme “Enduring Peace: Blessed Horse in Full Stride.” Community leaders and local residents will gather to joyfully welcome the Year of the Horse through cultural performances, festive traditions, and an uplifting atmosphere.
The celebration will feature dynamic performances such as the thunderous Tai Ji Celestial Drums, a traditional Lion Dance, and a lively Dragon–Horse Dance, symbolizing strength, harmony, and good fortune for the year ahead.
Guests will also be able to participate in hands-on Lunar New Year traditions, including Chinese calligraphy, stencil art, roasting oranges for good fortune, enjoying candied fruit skewers, making festive tangyuan (sweet rice balls), and experiencing Tai Ji Men’s signature Kung Fu tea. A special blessing ritual to “bid farewell to the old and welcome the new” will offer participants a meaningful way to step into the new year with hope and positivity.
The program will also include a sharing on life wisdom inspired by Yin–Yang philosophy. Music teacher Ya-Ting Yang and her husband, Professor Ming-Chun Lu, will share their personal journey of resilience after Yang faced a life-threatening battle with malignant lymphoma at age 29 and endured a total gastrectomy and chemotherapy. Their story reflects how they transformed adversity and rediscovered hope.
Open to the public, the celebration invites the community to come together in a spirit of unity and renewal. Free tickets are available through Eventbrite.
