Multiple Suspicious Fires Reported Across Pasadena’s East End (Photo – PFD)
A suspect has been arrested in connection with a series of arson fires that occurred throughout Pasadena during the week of May 25, 2026, following a collaborative investigation by the Pasadena Police Department and the Pasadena Fire Department.

On June 2, personnel from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department located and arrested 33-year-old Manuel Marias in Duarte. Authorities said the arrest resulted from coordinated investigative efforts between Pasadena police detectives and Pasadena fire personnel who worked to identify and apprehend the individual believed to be responsible for the fires.
Manuel Marias was booked at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Temple Station in Temple City. Bail has been set at $400,000.
The investigation remains active and ongoing as detectives continue working alongside Pasadena Fire Department investigators to determine whether additional incidents may be connected to the suspect. Authorities are also continuing to prepare the case for prosecution.
Officials said additional details regarding charges and the circumstances surrounding the incidents will be released as they become available.
“This arrest reflects the strong partnership between the Pasadena Police Department and the Pasadena Fire Department and our shared commitment to protecting the community,” Pasadena Police Chief Gene Harris said in a statement. “We are grateful for the diligence of our investigators and the assistance provided by our law enforcement partners in bringing this suspect into custody.”
The Pasadena Police Department and Pasadena Fire Department thanked community members for their vigilance, cooperation and timely reporting of suspicious activity during the investigation.
“Public safety remains our highest priority, and both departments remain committed to holding those responsible for criminal activity accountable,” the departments said.
