On Wednesday, June 3, 2026, the Pasadena Police Department’s Air Operations Section welcomed students from Alliance Cindy and Bill Simon Technology Academy High School for a behind-the-scenes look at aviation and public safety operations.

During the visit, students toured the Air Operations Section’s facilities, viewed specialized equipment, and learned about the important role aviation plays in supporting law enforcement missions. The experience provided an up-close look at the department’s helicopter program and offered students the opportunity to engage directly with the professionals who keep the section operating.
Students participated in presentations and discussions with helicopter mechanics, police officers, and pilots, gaining insight into a variety of career paths within aviation and public safety. Topics included aircraft maintenance, flight operations, and law enforcement service, as well as the education, training, and commitment required to pursue careers in these specialized fields.
Officer Aracely Preciado provided students with a close-up look at a Pasadena Police Department helicopter, sharing information about aviation careers and explaining how airborne law enforcement supports public safety efforts throughout the community.
Alliance Cindy and Bill Simon Technology Academy High School, a free public charter school operated by Alliance College-Ready Public Schools and authorized by the Los Angeles Unified School District, is recognized for its technology-focused curriculum and dedication to preparing students for success in college and beyond. The visit complemented the school’s mission of connecting classroom learning with real-world career opportunities.
