A rare tropical storm is expected to hit Southern California on Sunday and Monday with heavy rain and high winds.

At this time, PUSD schools are expected to open on Monday, August 21. Instruction will continue with rainy-day protocols. The District will inform students, parents, and staff by 1:30 pm on Sunday, August 20, 2023, if schools will be closed on Monday because of the impacts of the storm.

Emergency Operations Center
As the storm approaches, PUSD is taking steps to ensure the safety of our students and employees.
The District has activated its Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and is monitoring rapidly-changing weather conditions. PUSD is in communication with county and local officials. District staff is working diligently to clear drains, add sandbags, and check roofs at all schools
