The Perseid meteor shower is not the only show over the summer. Other planets will be active and worth watching and following.

This month
Mars will be moving in the same direction of the moon but a bit slower.

August 22 to 25
The Red Planet will head toward Saturn and will passe below it.
The two planets, Mars and Saturn, will shine at about the same magnitude.

August 29
The moon will re-enter the scene.

August 30
The moon will be close to Spica, nearing Mars and Saturn.

August 31
The moon will be right upon Mars and Saturn.
