The South Pasadena High School (SPHS) Varsity Virtual Enterprise Finance team earned second place in the state competition with their innovative company, Fable. This achievement has earned them a spot at the National Competition in New York City, scheduled for April 7-8, 2025.

Team members Isabelle Mullican, Talia Rodak, Audrey Zheng, and Lindsay Zhu will represent SPHS as part of the top 30 finance teams in the nation. Their impressive performance at the state level included the creation of both current and projected financial statements to showcase the potential of their virtual enterprise. These financial documents aimed to offer a realistic estimate of sales and profits, key factors in attracting investors and stakeholders.
To qualify for the state finals, the team submitted a detailed written document and participated in a high-stakes in-person presentation, which included a five-minute pitch followed by a Q&A session with judges.
The team’s success at the state competition not only highlights their financial acumen but also demonstrates their ability to effectively communicate complex business concepts in a competitive setting. Their advancement to the national stage marks a significant milestone for the team and South Pasadena High School.
The SPHS Varsity Virtual Enterprise Finance team will now set their sights on preparing for the national competition in New York City, where they will compete against the best teams from across the country.
