Laura Youkstetter was named South Pasadena Unified School District’s (SPUSD) 2023 Teacher of the Year.

Youkstetter was honored at the Los Angeles County Teacher of the Year ceremony held on September 22, 2023 at the Universal City Hilton.
Every year, SPUSD recognizes outstanding school site teachers of the year for their care, compassion, and ingenuity in their classrooms. As the SPUSD representative, Youkstetter joined 68 teachers representing 64 school districts who participated in the 42nd Annual Los Angeles County Teachers of the Year competition. This competition is designed to focus public attention on teaching excellence and to honor exemplary dedication and professional commitment.

- Valerie Omine, Marengo Elementary School
- Jennifer Detterich, Monterey Hills Elementary School
