South Pasadena residents will have an opportunity to weigh in on proposed safety improvements at two key Mission Street intersections during a community meeting scheduled for October 5, 2026.
By News Desk
The meeting will begin at 5:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, located at 1424 Mission Street in South Pasadena. City staff will discuss the Mission Street–Pasadena Avenue–Arroyo Drive Intersection Improvement Project, which focuses on the intersections of Mission Street with Pasadena Avenue and Arroyo Drive.
Funded through a Metro Measure M Subregional Program grant, the project aims to improve safety, accessibility, and traffic flow for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists. The two closely spaced intersections provide important access to Arroyo Vista Elementary School, Arroyo Seco Park, and local transit routes.
Several design concepts will be presented at the meeting. Proposed features include revised intersection layouts and traffic signage, ADA-compliant curb ramps, and curb- and lane-narrowing treatments. These changes are intended to shorten pedestrian crossing distances while improving traffic flow through the area.
Residents and other members of the public are invited to attend and learn more about the project. Additional information about the intersection improvements and other active capital improvement projects is available at this link.
