South Pasadena won the Ruth Vreeland Award for Engaging Youth in City Government for its Tech Day program.
South Pasadena Youth Commissioners launched Tech Day to help the city’s senior community keep in touch with friends and family, a task made difficult by ever-changing technology and software.
Tech Day is held on a monthly basis, providing seniors with ongoing, one-on-one learning sessions about email, Skype and Facebook, helping them reach loved ones.
The 2019 award winners were honored today during an Opening General Session of the League of California Cities’ Annual Conference & Expo at the Long Beach Convention Center.
