A suspected narcotics overdose victim was revived by South Pasadena police officers on the morning of June 6 after officers responded to a welfare check near Orange Grove Avenue and Mission Street.

At approximately 9:52 am, officers were dispatched to the corner of Orange Grove Avenue and Mission Street after receiving a report of an individual sleeping in the parkway.
Upon arrival, officers found the person unresponsive. Recognizing signs consistent with a narcotics overdose, officers administered two doses of Naloxone intranasally. Within minutes, the individual became responsive.
Paramedics from the South Pasadena Fire Department arrived shortly afterward and transported the individual to a local hospital for further medical treatment.
According to the South Pasadena Police Department, the officers’ quick response and decisive actions were instrumental in the individual’s recovery.
