A 19-year-old man was arrested early Wednesday morning after allegedly entering a business on Huntington Drive and attempting to steal merchandise, according to the South Pasadena Police Department.

At approximately 1:37 am on May 20, 2026, the South Pasadena Police Department Communications Center received a burglary alarm call from a business located in the 1400 block of Huntington Drive. The alarm company reportedly informed dispatchers that the business owner was monitoring surveillance cameras and observed an unknown adult male inside the store.
Officers responded to the scene and established a containment around the business. During the operation, the suspect, identified as Jesus Zamora, an unhoused individual from the Los Angeles area, allegedly attempted to leave the business carrying two tote bags filled with merchandise.
Police said Zamora retreated back inside the store after seeing officers outside, but later complied with commands and surrendered without incident.
During the investigation, Zamora allegedly admitted to pulling on the front doors of the business, discovering they were unlocked, and entering the store with the intent to steal merchandise.
Zamora was arrested on suspicion of commercial burglary and transported to the South Pasadena Police Department for booking.
