On August 15, 2026, at approximately 5:47 am, officers responded to the 1500 block of Bank Street regarding a reported assault.

Upon arrival, officers located a female victim with visible physical injuries. Officers also located and detained a male at the scene.
Through their investigation, officers determined that the male had attempted to strangle the female. Another male who was inside the residence intervened and was able to separate the two individuals.
Based on the investigation, 21-year-old Izhar Santiago of South Pasadena was arrested for attempted murder. Santiago was transported to the Pasadena City Jail, where he was booked.
