The Friends of the South Pasadena Public Library will hold its annual Holiday Book Sale and Marketplace which will take place Dec. 1-3 at the Library Community Room, 1115 El Centro Street.

It will feature an extensive curated collection of current and classic fiction and children’s books, stunning art and coffee table books, antiquarian collectibles, and a wide variety of non-fiction items. This year we also have many nearly-new books of special interest for birdwatching, aspiring writers, gaming enthusiasts, and fans of graphic novels and comic books. Complimentary gift wrapping will be available while supplies last.
A Holiday Marketplace will be part of the sale on Sunday, Dec. 3. Local artisans will offer a variety of handmade gifts such as ceramics, jewelry, art cards, and fiber arts.
Hours and special events each day:
- Friday, Dec. 1: Open from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Early admittance at 5:00 pm will be offered to Friends Members who have joined at the $20+ level by November 30, 2023.
- Saturday, Dec. 2: Open from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
- Sunday, Dec. 3: Open from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Holiday Marketplace features local artisans.
The Holiday Book Sale will continue through December in the Friends Bookstore on the second floor of the library, during regular hours: Tuesday to Thursday from 1:00 to 5:00 pm, Friday 11:30 am to 4:30 pm, and Saturday 10:00 am to 4:30 pm.
All funds raised at the Holiday Sale, and in the Library Bookstore as well as Membership dues for the Friends of the South Pasadena Public Library, directly support the South Pasadena Library. In addition to supporting the purchase of Library materials, the Friends underwrite the popular Summer Reading Program.
