Governor Gavin Newsom signed a bill phasing out the sale of new gas-powered lawn equipment in California by 2024. As a sustainability leader, the City of South Pasadena has instituted an ordinance banning the use of gas-powered leaf blowers in the city.
Enforcement has started, and violations range from a warning to fines up to $500! Check the City’s leaf blower ordinance at SouthPasadenaCA.gov/LeafBlowers.
Incentive programs for landscapers
On March 30th, South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) increased funding for the 2023 Commercial Lawn and Garden Equipment Incentive and Exchange (eL&G) Program.
