      playing an old game
      drop your finger
      somewhere
      on the globe

      someday

      in the blue
      where the vertical and horizontal
      lines intersect

to that spot she will float
      after the ship
      has gone down
      taking with it her canary

Liz Goetz lives in Carlsbad and AltaDena CA, she has participated regulary in Caltech Red Door Poets workshops and Poets on Site, Pasadena. She loves to write, sing, play her fiddle, and hike the mountains and deserts.
