      John Muir High School proudly celebrates Sofia Tejada Pacheco and Sebastian Tejada Pacheco as the Valedictorian and Salutatorian of the Class of 2026, recognizing their remarkable academic accomplishments and commitment to excellence.

      Sofia Tejada Pacheco

      Sofia Tejada Pacheco is graduating as John Muir High School’s Valedictorian while also earning three Associate Degrees from Pasadena City College in Social and Behavioral Sciences, Business, and Humanities. Throughout high school, she has demonstrated exceptional academic achievement while balancing a rigorous dual-enrollment course load.

      In addition to her academic success, Sofia has been an active member of the John Muir High School Swim Team. She credits Pasadena City College’s Dual Enrollment Program with helping her challenge herself academically and prepare for college-level coursework, ultimately strengthening her path to higher education.

      This fall, Sofia will attend Columbia University on a full-ride scholarship, where she plans to major in Financial Economics and continue pursuing her passion for business, economics, and leadership.

      Sebastian Tejada Pacheco

      Sebastian Tejada Pacheco is graduating as John Muir High School’s Salutatorian while also earning three Associate Degrees from Pasadena City College in Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Social and Behavioral Studies. Throughout high school, he has distinguished himself as a scholar, researcher, leader, and community advocate.

      His accomplishments include serving as a Data Research Intern at Caltech, founding an AI education program for students in his native Peru, and leading outreach efforts as Outreach Director and Co-Captain of FIRST Robotics Team 2404. He has also been an active member of the John Muir High School Swim Team and participated in prestigious programs including the Mark Cuban Foundation AI Bootcamp, QuestBridge College Prep Scholars, College Access Plan (CAP), the AOT Tech Flex Leader Program, the Karim Kharbouch Fellowship, and the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Student Ambassador Program.

      This fall, Sebastian will attend UC Berkeley on a full-ride scholarship, where he plans to major in Data Science and continue using technology and research to create opportunities for others.

      A Class Defined by Excellence

      As members of the John Muir High School Class of 2026, Sofia Tejada Pacheco and Sebastian Tejada Pacheco have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and dedication to their educational goals. Through their commitment to rigorous coursework, involvement in school and community programs, and pursuit of higher education opportunities, they have exemplified the values of perseverance and excellence that define student success at Muir. Their accomplishments serve as an inspiration to their classmates and future generations of students as they embark on the next chapter of their academic journeys.
