Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas) and the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) would like to hear from you.

      By News Desk

SoCalGas will make a General Rate Case (GRC) application to increase rates in 2024.

You are invited to participate in a public forum, also called a Public Participation Hearing (PPH), on March 6 or March 15 to discuss this. At the public forum, you can make comments and raise concerns with the California Public Utilities Commission’s (CPUC’s) Administrative Law Judge who is overseeing this rate increase request.

As part of the CPUC’s ongoing efforts to protect customers and community members, and to provide the greatest access, these hearings will be held virtually. Your participation by providing your thoughts on SoCalGas’ request can help the CPUC make an informed decision.

You can also provide written public comments at any time during the proceeding at apps.cpuc.ca.gov/c/A2205015.

      Time and Date

SoCalGas’ March 6 and March 15, 2023, PPHs will be held virtually, meaning you can participate via internet or via phone.

We can’t handle the high cost of utilities going up. We live on Social Security and are at an advanced age. Please don’t raise your rates. Think about all the people in our situation. Do we pay for the heat or our medicine?

Please explain why the Gas increase? You should have enough money, unless it more in pockets of the managers and executives.
The people are barley making it now and you want to increase. Food, Gasoline, is out of control! Now everyone want to blame Covid-19, a lots of people died and was sick. Some loss their job too! The Corporate world has taking over! My question is who own SOCALGas CO? Between Rent, Taxes, Food and DWP, there will be more homeless people and more people will be moving out of California! Stores are closing because no one have money buy things, but you don’t care about the people welfare!

Do not increase gas rates!!! My bill was $600+ in January and $400 in February. My husband is on disability due to knee replacement surgery, and I work full time making minimum wage. We can’t afford these bills!!! This is ridiculous!!!

Gas price rates are crazy. Roll back some
        prices.

I feel strongly that the rates should not be raised. People are having a hard enough
time trying to keep up with the tremendous surge of prices for groceries and gasoline.
Now natural gas and electricity wants to follow suit.
With all these price increases soaring the common citizen is suffering.
Instead of increasing prices maybe making cuts in profits and CEO raises and bonuses
could be another avenue to explore.
Unless someone is making a high six figure salary, just trying to exist is becoming problematic.

Very poor management has lead too this mess they have created…. Big surprise for us when bills received… agency that are in place to control prices have done nothing to prevent this mess.. natural gas has dropped below 3.00. But they still want increase costs too us there customers… I say class action lawsuit to recover there out rages bill.. no rate increase.. fire your manager and executives.
