After offering only a partial version in 2025, the historic Mount Wilson Trail Race is returning this spring with its full 8.6‑mile course, running from Kersting Court to Orchard Camp and back. Registration is currently open, with participation capped at 350 runners.

Adult entries are priced at $87.40. Youth Race spots are $49.25, while Kid Fun Run registrations are free.

All races are scheduled to begin at 7:30 am on Saturday, May 23. Participants will tackle the complete 8.6‑mile route, which climbs more than 2,160 feet along a winding mountain trail.

First held in 1908, the race is one of California’s oldest trail‑running events. The course follows a historic path originally used by the Gabrielino Indians and later expanded in 1864 by Benjamin “Don Benito” Wilson.

      Support for Trail Maintenance

In addition to racing, community members are encouraged to contribute to the Fletcher Trail Maintenance Fund. The fund supports essential upkeep of the Mount Wilson and Bailey Canyon trails, including equipment, materials, and volunteer efforts.

Organizers say donations play a key role in keeping the trails open, safe, and accessible for public use. More information about registration and contributions is available at mountwilsontrailrace.com.
