On Saturday, August 2nd, the Indivisible group Rooted in Resistance, SGV, is calling on the community to unite for a peaceful protest in response to the ongoing injustices and unconstitutional actions of the current administration.

      By News Desk

This event, part of a nationwide series of protests, seeks to amplify collective outrage over the increasingly authoritarian policies that disproportionately impact marginalized communities.

The protest will be a non-violent gathering where participants can raise their voices and show solidarity. Attendees are encouraged to bring signs highlighting the issues they care about most, including but not limited to immigration, civil rights, and the broader fight for human dignity and justice.

In addition to raising awareness, the group is collecting non-perishable food items for individuals at risk of detention by ICE, particularly those who cannot safely access local markets. These donations will provide vital support to some of the most vulnerable members of the community.

The protest will take place near Kersting Court in Sierra Madre, with participants spreading out along the sidewalks and, as the crowd grows, extending to the corners of Sierra Madre Blvd. and Baldwin Ave. The event is open to all, with no prior sign-up required.
