Getting around Sierra Madre is becoming more affordable and accessible with the launch of Sierra Madre Moves, a new transportation program created through a partnership between the City of Sierra Madre and Uber Transit.
By News Desk
The program offers reduced-cost local, regional, and medical rides for adults traveling to and from Sierra Madre. Eligible trips are subsidized by the City, allowing riders to pay a $2.50 copay.
Sierra Madre Moves is designed to help residents reach medical appointments, shopping destinations, regional transit connections, and other essential services. The program also provides access to wheelchair-accessible vehicles for those who need them.
Residents can claim ride vouchers through the City’s website at sierramadreca.gov/moves. Once claimed, vouchers are linked directly to a rider’s Uber account and are automatically applied when booking an eligible trip.
For residents who prefer to schedule rides by phone, bookings can be made by calling (833) USE-UBER (833-873-8237). A text-enabled mobile device is required for this option.
“This program provides residents with an additional transportation option for accessing medical appointments, shopping destinations, regional transit connections, and other services throughout the region,” said Mayor Kristine Lowe.
Additional information about eligibility requirements, voucher claims, and service area details is available at sierramadreca.gov/moves.
