On June 30, 2023, at 1:51 pm, officers from the Pasadena Police Department responded to a multi-unit residential complex located in the 200 block of North Madison Avenue regarding a “Shots Fired” call with a victim down.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male outside a residential unit, suffering from a gunshot wound. The wound appeared self-inflicted, and he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Officers conducted a welfare check in the adjacent residential unit and located a second adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. That male was transported to a local hospital by Pasadena Fire Department Paramedics in critical condition.
The deceased male was identified as 35-year-old Creighton Chun Ming Wong, a Pasadena resident.
Detectives from the Pasadena Police Department’s Robbery / Homicide Unit responded to the crime scene to commence immediate follow-up investigation. The investigation revealed the men were roommates and that Wong had shot his roommate before taking his own life moments later. A firearm was recovered near Wong.
The motive for the shooting-suicide is still under investigation.
