The Sierra Madre Fire Prevention Festival was a huge hit on Saturday, Oct 12, 2024.

Hundreds of families came to learn about safety issues, to pet the brush-clearance goats and to learn what to do in an emergency.
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife was one of the popular booths with their Bear Wise program. Code 3 Life taught hands only CPR for adults and infants. Their most popular training was what to do if your pet is having an emergency. CERT assured visitors all had Ready, Set, Go bags in case of a disaster. The Sierra Madre Professional Firefighters Association also had a booth out in the front to educate the public about Measure PS. Throughout the day visitors had a great time enjoying the festivities. Firefighters grilled hotdogs and blew up balloons while families learned how to be safer and prevent emergencies in their homes and neighborhoods.
