      Alhambra City Vice Mayor Sasha Renée Pérez announced she earned the official endorsement of the California Democratic Party in the State Senate District 25 race.

      The California Democratic Party’s endorsement was made official at their State Convention in Sacramento. Vice Mayor Pérez earned 92% of the vote during the California Democratic Party Pre-Endorsement Conference on October 21st. Vice Mayor Pérez also earned the sole recommendation of the California Young Democrats and California High School Democrats from their regional committees and confirmed at their State Convention this past weekend.

      Pérez said:

      I’m thrilled that the California Democratic Party are united in support of our campaign for State Senate. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to engage with our party’s grassroots leaders about our shared values and vision for a more equitable California. Together, we will fight for a future with reproductive freedom, LGBTQ+ inclusion, a cleaner climate, and educational and economic opportunity for all Californians.”

      Pérez launched her campaign in February 2023.She is running to represent the 25th Senate District. The open seat includes the communities of Glendale, Pasadena, Alhambra, Altadena, Arcadia, Claremont, Glendora, La Cañada Flintridge, La Crescenta-Montrose, Monrovia, Monterey Park, Rosemead, San Gabriel, San Marino, Sierra Madre, South Pasadena, Temple City, Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga, Upland, and San Antonio Heights.
