After a summer pause, the Pasadena Folk Music Society concert series will return to Knox Presbyterian Church on October 3 with a performance by singer-songwriter Sarah McQuaid.
By Melanie Hooks
McQuaid is known for her lush, velvety voice and engaging personality. Performing on acoustic and electric guitars, keyboards and occasionally drums, she creates an immersive live experience marked by warmth, wit and intimacy. Her performances have earned her loyal audiences on both sides of the Atlantic.
In April 2017, McQuaid received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Ards International Guitar Festival. Presenting the award, Ernie McMillen of Avalon Guitars praised her skill and generosity, saying, “It is rare in the guitar world to find a player who displays genius without arrogance, and who shares their hard-won skill and knowledge so selflessly.”
The concert will begin at 7:30 pm at Knox Presbyterian Church, located at 225 S. Hill Ave. in Pasadena. Advance tickets are $33.85 for adults and $12.51 for Caltech students and youth.
Tickets will also be available at the door on the night of the concert. Door sales will be cash or check only.
