In recognition of Autism Awareness Month, the San Gabriel Police Department will host its first-ever Silent Day Out on Saturday, April 18, from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm at Vincent Lugo Park.

The event is designed to create a more inclusive and welcoming environment for individuals who may be sensitive to loud noises. Organizers say the gathering will feature zero sirens and other sensory-friendly accommodations.
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore police vehicles and equipment while meeting department officers in a calm, quiet setting. No sirens or loud demonstrations will be used during the event.
Autism awareness patches will also be available for purchase, with proceeds supporting the cause.
