Emergencies are scary. But calling 9-1-1 shouldn’t be. San Gabriel’s Fire Service Day Open House on May 9 aims to make families and all residents more familiar with the rigs and personnel who might be showing up to that stressful phone call.

The Department invites the community to Fire Station 51 from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm on Saturday, May 9, for a behind-the-scenes look at the Fire Department’s daily operations, featuring guided station tours, firefighter meet-and-greets, and live demonstrations of fire suppression and emergency preparedness techniques.
Families can explore fire engines up close, enjoy complimentary hot dogs and chips, and enter a raffle for a chance to win a dinner experience at the fire station.
The event will also feature informational booths from the San Gabriel Police Department, the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), and other community partners.
