The City of San Gabriel is inviting residents and visitors to an evening of family-friendly fun at its annual Independence Day celebration on Thursday, July 3, from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm. The festivities will take place at the Gabrielino High School Baseball Field, located at 1327 South San Gabriel Blvd.

      By Katlyn Ong

This year’s event is part of the city’s “Summer in San Gabriel” concert and movie series and promises an evening packed with live entertainment, engaging activities, and a grand finale that’s as eco-conscious as it is spectacular.

Headlining the entertainment is Those Guys, a dynamic dance band known for their high-energy performances and crowd-pleasing hits. For younger attendees, The Party Puppet Show and the Arty Loon Magic Show will offer interactive fun throughout the evening.

In addition to the performances, guests can enjoy food trucks, arts and crafts, games, and a watermelon eating contest open to all ages. Community booths will also be on-site, adding a local flair to the festivities.

Pre-registration is not required for entry. Admission will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Gates will close at 8:40 pm.

The evening will culminate in a drone, laser, and light show at 9:00 pm, sponsored by Athens Services, offering a stunning and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional fireworks.

Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs for comfortable seating. For information on prohibited items, parking, and other event details, visit SanGabrielCity.com/IndependenceDay.
