The San Gabriel Farmers Market made a triumphant return on Saturday morning, April 11, 2026, and it didn’t just reopen, it celebrated.

Running from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, Mission Drive in front of the Mission Playhouse transformed into a vibrant, bustling hub where families strolled, shoppers explored, and vendors showcased their best. The energy was unmistakable: this wasn’t just a market—it felt like a mini street festival.
After previous challenges, the city’s fresh approach clearly hit the mark. By closing off Mission Drive and providing ample parking at a nearby Park and Ride lot and surrounding streets, getting in (and staying awhile) was easier than ever. The result? A steady, cheerful stream of visitors from start to finish.
At the Community Services tent, one attendee summed it up perfectly, saying they were excited the market is “able to be up and running again, bigger and better than before.
And the energy matched that sentiment. Music pulsed through the market thanks to DJ Joe Future, whose upbeat set kept the vibe high and the crowd moving. If this opening is any indication, there’s strong potential for even more live entertainment in the future, local bands, DJs, and dance performances—as the market looks to keep the momentum going week after week.
Operated by Farm and Craft Market, Inc., the weekly event is set to feature more than 20 vendors offering everything from farm-fresh produce and golden jars of honey to specialty foods and locally crafted goods. It’s a one-stop celebration of small businesses and community connection.
Shoppers and residents alike were thrilled to see the market return, and many are already hoping the festive touches, especially the music, become a permanent part of the experience.
If opening day was any indication, the San Gabriel Farmers Market isn’t just back, it’s thriving, growing, and ready to reclaim its place as a weekly highlight.
