      A staple of community emergency preparedness, Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) are a proactive way for citizens to acquire the essential skills needed to respond confidently and effectively during emergencies before first responders arrive.

      This comprehensive, multi-day program provides residents with the essential skills needed to respond confidently and effectively during emergencies before first responders arrive.

      The Fire Departments of each city offer the free training. Over the course of both programs, participants will learn life-saving techniques, including:

      • Disaster preparedness and management
      • Medical operations, triage, and first aid
      • Search and rescue procedures
      • Fire safety and prevention

      San Gabriel Schedule

      Friday, March 6: 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
      Saturday, March 7: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
      Sunday, March 8: 8:30 am – 1:00 pm

      Spots are limited. Register by March 5 by emailing cert@sangabriel.gov or calling (626) 308-2880.

      Alhambra Schedule

      Classes will be held 9:00 am – 12:00 pm on Thursdays, March 5th – April 9th in The Learning Center at Alhambra Library, 101 S. 1st St., Alhambra, CA 91801. Attendees must attend all classes to receive certification.
