A residential structure fire in South Pasadena on Thursday afternoon left one person with moderate injuries, according to the South Pasadena Fire Department.

At approximately 1:33 pm, the South Pasadena Fire Department responded to a reported residential structure fire in the 2000 block of Fremont Avenue, with assistance from the Pasadena, San Marino, and Alhambra fire departments.
When firefighters arrived, they found smoke coming from the rear of a three-story residential structure. Crews located an exterior fire at the rear corner of the residence that had extended into the interior of the home.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and conducted a thorough search of the structure to check for additional fire spread and to locate any occupants or pets. Crews also worked to protect the home’s contents by covering furniture and ventilating the structure to remove smoke.
Officials said the coordinated response and quick action by public safety personnel helped bring the fire under control rapidly, limiting further damage.
One civilian suffered moderate injuries and was treated before being transported to a local hospital.
