On Thursday, November 13, Congresswoman Judy Chu (CA-28) distributed turkeys and groceries to nonprofit organizations in the San Gabriel Valley at the Altadena Community Center, as part of the annual “Operation Gobble” donation program.

All turkeys and groceries have already been allocated to the participating nonprofits, so no turkeys were available for walk-in visitors at the event.
This year’s event was especially significant, as many of the organizations receiving turkeys were focused on supporting survivors of the devastating Eaton Fire. The program, which supports approximately 20 local nonprofit organizations annually, provided essential Thanksgiving food to underserved families across the 28th Congressional District. Several participating groups will direct their donations to fire-affected communities, ensuring that those who have lost so much receive a warm meal this holiday season.
Rep. Chu’s office partnered with the San Gabriel Valley Water Company and the Community Organized Relief Effort (CORE) to provide the turkeys and groceries.
The event saw the distribution of food to nonprofits such as the Alhambra Latino Association, Flintridge Center, Foothill Unity Center, Friends In Deed, My Tribe Rise, and many others. These organizations serve a wide range of communities, including low-income families, veterans, and individuals with disabilities.
