Residents and members of the public are invited to attend the free community premiere of Reclaiming Home: Black Altadena Rebuilds on Thursday, July 30, at Loma Alta Park in Altadena.

The evening begins with a Small Business Vendor Marketplace at 6:00 pm, followed by the program at 7:00 pm in the park’s lower Loma section, located at 3330 N. Lincoln Ave.
Produced by the County of Los Angeles, the documentary follows four Black Altadena families as they rebuild their lives after the Eaton Fire. Through personal stories and historical context, the film highlights the community’s resilience and the enduring legacy of Black homeownership in Altadena.
The program will include welcome remarks from Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger. Veteran broadcast journalist Pat Harvey will serve as emcee and moderator for a panel discussion following the screening. Pastor LaKeith Kenebrew of Hillside Tabernacle will deliver the invocation before the film.
The post-screening panel will feature Veronica Jones of the Altadena Historical Society, Wilberta Richardson of the NAACP Altadena Branch, and families featured in the documentary.
The event is free and open to the public. Following its community premiere, Reclaiming Home: Black Altadena Rebuilds will be available to stream at no cost on the Los Angeles County website, lacounty.gov.
