Pasadena Presbyterian Church houses a celebrated musical treasure: the Harry and Helen Ehrich Organ. One of the largest and finest instruments of its kind in Southern California, this Æolian-Skinner organ will take center stage at a free Friends of Music concert on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 7:30 pm.
By Melanie Hooks
The “King of Instruments” is featured in this special program, with Timothy Howard and Jeffrey Schindler performing on PPC’s magnificent Aeolian-Skinner pipe organ and conducting a selection of organ concertos by Samuel Barber, Francis Poulenc, William Herschel, and Josef Rheinberger. The concert is presented in association with the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.
“Ensemble” is a series of Friends of Music programs that highlight PPC’s pipe organ in collaboration with other performing forces. Previous concerts have featured works for organ and orchestra, organ and vocalists, and organ with instrumental and vocal soloists, including significant world and regional premieres.
A reception will follow the performance.
